People measure friendship in many ways. Here is the official definition.
1. a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal
2. a person who gives assistance; patron; supporter: friends of the Boston Symphony.
3. a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile: Who goes there? Friend or foe?
4. a member of the same nation, party, etc.
5. (initial capital letter) a member of the Religious Society of Friends; a Quaker.–verb (used with object)
6. Rare. to befriend.—Idiom
7. make friends with, to enter into friendly relations with; become a friend to.

I am lucky to have many good friends in my life. Everyone knows my BFF is Maria, followed closely by Kimba and my long time friend Sarah-bo-darah. But last week I have to admit that I let material items sway BFF status for a brief moment. On Christmas Eve I received a call at work from my husband asking me (in a not so happy voice) who the new pan set was for that was under the Christmas tree. I got defensive and said, "I don't know what your talking about", and he said in a more defensive voice, "The pot and pan set that's under the Christmas Tree"
and I asked, "Is it in a box? Maybe there something else in the box", he says, "I am looking at four new pans." Then I hear the kids....in the background....."you weren't suppose to tell her!!!"

My Pampered Chef consultant Rachel Nguyen dropped off the pan set, placed it under the tree with a message to the kids, "Tell Mom Santa came early" Are you even kidding me!!! I had to call her and thank her immediately before even seeing the pans. She was very excited and told me that she was happy to give it to me and knew I would love it and it was her pleasure. Amazing. I do love it, will use it forever and it makes me happy not only to look at it but also to cook in. A perfect gift in my opinion.

Of course I had to call Maria and tell her....immediately.... she made me confirm the fact that I still loved her best even though she didn't even think about buying such an extravagant gift. I crossed my fingers and told her "of course". Then later that afternoon she dropped me off a new Christmas apron which I loved and she went back to the top.... Ok, I'm easy.....

Enjoy your day!!

Answering some questions:
Several of you asked me how I made the covers letters on the post from yesterday. It totally did not occur to me even tell you any of the products I used. Duh!!
Anyhow, the papers are from October Afternoon Hometown collection. I love the colors of these papers and the slight "vintage" feel (in a bright way) of them.
The letters were actually made from the Tim Holtz Masks. These are fairly new and REALLY cool. (but in my mind-tim is REALLY cool, so anything with his name on it makes me happy)
I used some We Are Memories trims and a couple of silver square letters for the "of". I popped up the arrow and the tag on the bottom for some texture. Check out Tim's tutorial on masking here. Enjoy.

Here and gone......Holidays 2008

This year really amazed me how the holidays came and went without alot of exhaustion or hoop-la. This was a first for me. It was a SIMPLE Christmas but it was an excellent one!! I hope you all had a great holiday as well.

I have a few days off from work and don't go back until after the new year. I have alot of things I hope to get done. The girls are home as well and I hope I can get them to stop arguing long enough to actually do something fun.

The picture above is of a year long album that I am starting. It basically is a 365 day journal of my life. Taking a picture everyday and journaling about it. I am celebrating my 40th birthday in a few days and I thought it would be a great year to follow. I've been wanting to do this project for a couple of years and I have decided to bite the bullet. My parents bought me a bind-it-all for Christmas so that is how I will bind it at the years end. Wanna join me??? I have alot of ideas to do each day/week/month....so stay tuned as I will show you little snippets of it throughout the year.

Be safe this New Years Holiday.

Stay tuned, I have alot of classes coming up in January, the schedule will be out soon.

Down and Out and Trying to Recover.
Have you been wondering where I have been?? I have been getting over the trauma that the women in this picture has caused me! I have a job I love, crave, and desire. This blonde bombshell thinks that she would like the job that I love, crave, and desire. She impersonates me every chance she gets, sits in my seat at work, and dreams about what it would be like to work at Bella Art. She has even stooped to telling my boss that I drink on the job. So....if you ever see her, just make sure you let her know how much you love ME working at Bella Art. She has been published twice in Take Ten Magazine and is incredibly talented, but can't let it end there, she must have it ALL and I am going to make sure she doesn't get quite "all" of everything!!!! Help with the cause to KEEP MY JOB! Give me advice as to what you would do if you were in this situation!

I love these little girls and the color combo here is beautiful!! This is Basic Grey's Eva paper. I love everything about these cards!
Anyhow====enough about Elzy--what about me??
Things are really good. The girls are doing well in school, Emily had her first written report project due this week and she received 3/3 on the rubric. I am always thrilled when she gets a good grade because her effort is so substantial that she really deserves a good grade. I love her stick-tu-it-tiviness (is that a real word?)
Today before work I met my friend Michelle for coffee. It had been months since we had seen each other because I am such a bad friend. The great thing is we can just pick up from where we left off and its like we never missed a month. We are back on track now with our monthly coffee meeting. We have done this for years.
Chris is so good with doing all the shopping for Christmas gifts. The boxes keep coming and I have hardly lifted a finger. Sweet..........
Hope this finds you all well and singing Christmas carols!!
